How to write a night market vendor application that works after dark
A night market asks more of vendors than a Saturday morning one. They load in at dusk, run lights and cooking equipment off your power, and handle cash in the dark. Your application should collect what you need to plan for all three before anyone parks on the lot.
Plan load-in around the daylight you have
Night market load-in usually falls in the last stretch of daylight, and every vendor wants to arrive at the same time. Ask what each vendor is driving so you can stage trucks and trailers first and send cars in to unload in waves. Publish a load-in window and a time when every vehicle has to be off the lot before shoppers arrive. Plan teardown the same way, because a clear pack-out order keeps vans from backing through a crowd in the dark.
Price power before you promise it
Power shapes a night market floor plan, because nearly every booth needs light. Offer it as priced add-ons, like a standard outlet, a high-draw circuit for cooking equipment, and booth lighting, so vendors pay for what they draw. Ask for each appliance and its wattage, then check the total against what your venue or generator can supply. Many cities have rules for temporary power, cords, and cord covers, so confirm them with your venue and fire marshal before you set prices.
Ask how vendors take payment at their booth
Cash handling changes once the sun goes down. Knowing which booths are cash-only tells you whether shoppers will need an ATM nearby and where to post signs for it. Remind vendors to keep a small float in a closed box, move larger amounts out of sight during the night, and count at the back of the booth, not the front. Card readers and payment apps need a signal, so walk the site with a phone before opening night and warn vendors about dead spots.
Put safety after dark in writing
State the lighting you expect at each booth, where generators can and can’t run, and whether open flame is allowed. Requirements for fire extinguishers and cooking setups vary by city, so check with your venue and fire marshal and pass the answers along. Tell vendors where to park, whether the walk back to their cars is lit, and who to call if something goes wrong. Vendors who can see you’ve planned for the end of the night are more likely to come back for the next one.

What if my venue doesn’t offer power?
Delete the add-ons and equipment questions, or change them to ask whether vendors will bring their own generator or battery lighting. You can rename, retype, reorder, and remove any question, and mark the ones you need as required.
Can I use one form for a weekly night market?
Yes. Publish one link and share it for the whole season. Vendors pick their night with the date question, and your dashboard shows how many have applied. If you’d rather take season-long applications, swap the date question for a checkbox list of your market nights.
