How to Collect Payments on Event Registration Forms

You can collect payments on event registration forms by connecting a payment processor like Stripe, adding a payment option to your form, or using event registration software with payments built in.

The best setup depends on the type of event you are running.

For vendor markets, you usually have two options. You can require vendors to pay when they submit their application, or you can approve them first and collect payment afterward.

We have found that collecting payment after approval can work well for vendor markets because organizers can review each application before charging the vendor. Once the vendor is approved, they can receive a payment link and pay for their booth.

If you do not need an approval process, you can also collect payment at checkout. The vendor fills out the registration form, selects their booth or registration option, and pays before submitting.

You can also use a QR code that sends people to a payment page, though this creates a separate step outside of the registration form.

Platforms like Vendor Application can connect vendor registrations with payments so organizers can collect applications, approve vendors, and accept booth payments in the same system.

For ticketed events, you may want to use event ticketing software that collects payment as soon as someone registers.
